Legoland Florida opens Galacticoaster on Feb. 27, 2026. This space‑themed indoor family coaster lets guests customize LEGO spacecraft with more than 625 combinations and begins with a mission briefing by Chief Engineer Biff Dipper. The attraction includes an interactive queue, the Orbital Outpost retail shop and a DuploTot play area for ages 1–4. It’s part of a $90 million investment to upgrade Legoland resorts in Florida and California.

Legoland Florida Resort will launch Galacticoaster, its first new rollercoaster in 15 years, on Feb. 27, 2026. The space‑themed, family‑friendly indoor coaster invites guests to personalize LEGO spacecraft and follow an immersive interstellar storyline.

What to Expect

The experience begins in a mission briefing room where Chief Engineer Biff Dipper greets “rookie recruits” and explains their mission: intercept a hazardous object racing through space. Before boarding, riders can customize their own LEGO spacecraft ride vehicle — designers say there are more than 625 possible combinations, making each mission feel unique.

Once aboard, families blast off into an animated Lego Galaxy filled with synchronized lighting, special effects and continuous storytelling designed to deliver thrills appropriate for a wide range of ages. The official attraction page calls Galacticoaster “the ultimate indoor family coaster.”

Guest Amenities and Family Features

The new attraction includes an interactive themed queue that deepens the mission narrative, a space‑themed retail shop called Orbital Outpost, and a soft‑play DuploTot Spot for “tiny astronauts” ages one to four. Galacticoaster is Legoland Florida’s first indoor coaster inside the main park since 2011, ending a more than decade‑long gap for a major coaster addition.

Part of a Broader Investment

Galacticoaster is one element of a coordinated upgrade across Legoland parks. Merlin Entertainments and The Lego Group announced a combined investment of $90 million to enhance Legoland resorts in both Florida and California; Legoland California is also rolling out space‑themed experiences and new coasters in March as part of that program.

“As we prepare to unveil this exciting new attraction designed, co‑created and imagined by the amazing creative team at the Lego Group and the unmatched talent of our Merlin Magic Makers, we hope the mystery and anticipation add to the awesome thrills to come,” said Fiona Eastwood, CEO of Merlin Entertainments, in a 2025 statement.

Galacticoaster aims to blend LEGO creativity with modern ride technology to create a family‑friendly indoor coaster that emphasizes storytelling, interactivity and replay value.
