Six Flags Qiddiya City opened on Dec. 31 near Riyadh, marking the company's first park outside North America. Its centerpiece, Falcon's Flight, is promoted as the world's tallest, fastest and longest coaster — topping out at roughly 150 mph, 640 feet and nearly 2.6 miles of track, with a ride time of about 3 minutes 16 seconds. The park also features 27 additional rides, four other record-breaking attractions, six themed lands and family-oriented experiences. Adult tickets start at 325 SAR (~$87); children's tickets begin at 275 SAR (~$73).

Six Flags has officially opened its newest destination, Six Flags Qiddiya City, on Dec. 31 — the company's first park outside North America. Located roughly a 40-minute drive from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the park debuted with multiple record-breaking attractions anchored by its flagship coaster, Falcon's Flight.

Falcon's Flight: A Record-Breaking Experience

Falcon's Flight is promoted as the world's tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster. The ride reaches top speeds of about 150 mph (≈241 km/h), climbs to roughly 640 feet (≈195 m) — about the height of a 60-story building — and covers nearly 2.6 miles (≈4.2 km) of track. The full circuit lasts approximately 3.26 minutes (around 3 minutes 16 seconds) and delivers sustained high G-forces and three separate launch sequences for an intense, continuous thrill.

“It’s three launches, there’s a real adrenaline rush,” said Neil Dwyer, Six Flags Qiddiya City's vice president of operations, during the park's opening livestream. He described the sequence: a gentle warm-up launch, a climb up the cliffside, a dramatic return, a pass over a large "camel back" structure, and a straight run back into the station.

Other Record-Breaking Attractions

In addition to Falcon's Flight, the park showcases four other record-holders and a total of 27 additional rides. Highlights include:

  • Sirocco Tower — billed as the world's tallest free-standing shot tower at about 475 feet.
  • Iron Rattler — the world's tallest tilt coaster.
  • Spitfire — the tallest inverting, triple-launch coaster.
  • Gyrospin — the tallest pendulum ride.

Family Fun and Themed Lands

The park is designed for families as well as thrill-seekers, with attractions like a classic carousel, bumper cars and the immersive dark ride Enchanted Greenhouse. Guests move through six themed lands arrayed around a vibrant central castle: Discovery Springs, Steam Town, Twilight Gardens, Valley of Fortune, Grand Exposition and City of Thrills. Each land offers distinct attractions, dining and retail experiences.

Opening, Pricing and Ambition

Six Flags shared opening-day footage and promotional clips on its official Instagram account and livestreamed parts of the ceremony. According to the park website, adult tickets start at 325 SAR (about $87 USD) and children's tickets begin at 275 SAR (about $73 USD). Six Flags Qiddiya City aims to establish itself as a global destination for theme-park enthusiasts and families.

“For Six Flags parks in North America, I would classify them as amusement parks. This will be the first, I think, fully integrated theme park,” said Brian Machamer, president of Six Flags Qiddiya City, highlighting the park's immersive music, theming, facades and staff presentation.

With Falcon's Flight and multiple other record-breaking rides, Six Flags Qiddiya City positions itself as a high-profile new entry on the international amusement and theme-park stage.
