David Lamadrid Named CFO of East Coast Zoological Foundation as ECZF Prepares Bowen Aquarium Expansion

The East Coast Zoological Foundation (ECZF) has appointed David Lamadrid as its chief financial officer. In this role, Lamadrid will lead financial strategy and capital planning to support the long-term sustainability of ECZF’s mission as the nonprofit expands beyond its flagship Brevard Zoo campus to a second site, Bowen Aquarium in Port Canaveral.

“Throughout my career, I have been drawn to organizations whose products or services improve the lives of people,” Lamadrid said. “That same value underpins my admiration for the role zoological institutions play in protecting biodiversity and fostering public engagement with the natural world.”

Lamadrid brings more than 25 years of strategic finance experience, including building and mentoring teams, improving operational efficiency, and guiding organizations through growth and transformation. He also has nonprofit governance experience, having served on a board of directors and as chairman of the finance committee for a nonprofit that provides lifespan services for individuals with developmental disabilities and special needs.

Lamadrid earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from St. John’s University and a master’s degree in finance and management from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Aerodyne Team Members Inducted into Space Worker Hall of Fame

Aerodyne Industries celebrated three colleagues — Stephen DeFeo, Scott Frazier, and Mike Toner — who were inducted into the National Space Club-Florida Committee’s Space Worker Hall of Fame Class of 2025 at the Celebrate Space Awards Banquet held at the Radisson Resort in Cape Canaveral. The trio supports the Consolidated Operations, Management, Engineering & Test (COMET) contract at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.

“These awards are a well-deserved recognition of your hard work, commitment, and dedication to the mission,” said Ralph Rohloff, Aerodyne’s senior vice president of operations and training. “We truly appreciate all you’re doing to support our NASA customers.”

DeFeo is a 41-year Kennedy Space Center veteran serving as a senior systems/network administrator who manages network equipment, multiple servers, and applications for COMET. His honors include NASA’s Space Flight Awareness (SFA) Award (1997), several performance and technical awards earned during his time with United Space Alliance supporting the Space Shuttle Program, and Aerodyne’s President’s Award in March 2025.

Frazier began his career in 1982 with the U.S. Air Force and rose from missile maintenance technician to facilities maintenance manager supporting Delta II missions valued at approximately $130 million. He later joined KSC contractors in 2005 and now serves as an area integration manager supporting multiple customers across eight KSC facilities. His recognitions include the Lt. General Leo Marquez Leadership Award, multiple NASA SFA awards, a General Manager’s Award (2018), and a Launch Director’s Award (2007).

Toner started in 1989 at the Rockwell Service Center as a design and test engineer and moved into leadership roles in electrical systems engineering. He is currently senior manager of the electrical/integration engineering group, supporting key elements of NASA’s Artemis Program. Toner’s team oversees critical subsystems such as the Kennedy Ground Control Subsystem (Command & Control), Ground Special Power, Launch Release System, Range Safety Checkout Systems, Flight Termination Subsystem, Hazardous Gas Leak Detection, and Environmental Control Systems. His accolades include SFA recognition, the ERC President’s Award, and multiple NASA Group Achievement Awards.
