Jared Isaacman Donates L-39 Albatros Jet to U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Backs Inspiration4 Training Complex

Jared Isaacman, entrepreneur, Inspiration4 commander and Space Camp Hall of Famer, has donated an L-39 Albatros jet to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville.

The jet will be displayed at the entrance to the Inspiration4 Skills Training Complex and is painted to match Isaacman’s Black Diamond Jet Team aircraft.

Isaacman also gave $15 million in June 2025 for the I4 facility — following a $10 million gift in 2022 — to fund simulated missions, a realistic space-station experience and a mission control center.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Jared Isaacman, the entrepreneur, Inspiration4 commander and Space Camp Hall of Famer, has donated an L-39 Albatros jet to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, officials announced Monday.

The aircraft will be installed at the entrance to the Inspiration4 Skills Training Complex (I4), a new facility named for the first all-civilian orbital mission. The jet is painted to match the plane Isaacman flew as a member of the Black Diamond Jet Team and will serve as a prominent, inspirational gateway feature for visitors and trainees.

In June 2025, Isaacman contributed $15 million specifically to support development of the I4 facility. That gift follows a previous $10 million donation to Space Camp programs in 2022. Together, the funds are designated to expand hands-on Space Camp programming at the I4 training complex, including:

  • Simulated space missions for campers and students
  • A realistic space-station mission experience with onboard operations
  • A dedicated mission control center for training and public demonstrations

U.S. Space & Rocket Center officials say the jet and the funded programs will enhance STEM education and provide immersive learning opportunities that mirror real mission tasks. The jet’s display and the I4 complex are expected to attract families, students and aspiring space professionals to Huntsville’s long-standing aerospace education campus.
