A body matching the description of 22-year-old Rebecca Park was discovered on Nov. 25 in the Manistee National Forest in Michigan. Authorities say Rebecca had been reported missing on Nov. 3 and was believed to be about 38 weeks pregnant when she vanished.

Timeline and discovery

Rebecca was last seen shortly before midnight on Nov. 3 at her mother's home in Boon Township, a rural area roughly 100 miles north of Grand Rapids. Search efforts followed, prompted by the fact that she was near full term; her estimated due date was Nov. 18. On Nov. 25, a body matching her description was located in the national forest and a medical examiner has been conducting an autopsy to confirm identity and cause of death.

Arrests and charges

In the hours after the discovery, two people close to Rebecca were arrested and booked at the Wexford County Jail. Rebecca's sister, 21-year-old Kimberly Park, was arrested in the early morning of Nov. 26 and arraigned that day on three felony charges: tampering with evidence, lying to a police officer and filing a false report. A judge set Kimberly's bail at $750,000.

Rebecca's fiancé, 43-year-old Richard Falor, was arrested on Nov. 25 and was arraigned on Nov. 26 on two counts of delivering methamphetamine. His bail was set at $1,000,000. Both remain in custody as the investigation continues.

Investigation status

Officials have not publicly connected the arrests to the discovery of the body, and the Wexford County Sheriff's Office has declined to confirm whether the woman found was still pregnant. The autopsy and routine investigative steps are underway to determine identity and cause of death. Authorities have not released additional details as the probe continues.

In an earlier interview with a local station, Falor said he and family members had been checking hospitals and searching for Rebecca. "Me, her mom and sister, we’ve all been calling the hospitals. I just want to know that she’s safe. Our son is safe," he said.

Police ask anyone with information related to Rebecca's disappearance or the discovery in the Manistee National Forest to contact the Wexford County Sheriff's Office.
