The FBI and partner agencies arrested 33-year-old Raul Gutierrez after he allegedly removed government equipment from a vandalized FBI vehicle amid unrest in Minneapolis. The DOJ and ATF led the operation after multiple federal vehicles were reportedly broken into while agents responded to an alleged assault on a federal officer. FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi condemned the theft; Tom Homan said additional arrests are expected. The episode followed protests tied to an ICE operation and a separate DHS-reported shooting.
Latin Kings Member Arrested After Alleged Theft From Vandalized FBI Vehicle During Minneapolis Unrest

Federal authorities arrested 33-year-old Raul Gutierrez after he allegedly removed government equipment from an FBI vehicle that had been vandalized during unrest in Minneapolis on Wednesday night.
Fox News confirmed the arrest Thursday, saying it resulted from a joint operation by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The FBI reported that multiple federal vehicles were damaged and broken into while agents were responding to a reported assault on a federal officer, and that government property was taken from inside those vehicles.
"One individual who allegedly stole federal government property out of an FBI vehicle in Minneapolis last night has been arrested," FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on X, noting the suspect is a Latin Kings member with a history of violent crime. "FBI personnel are continuing to pursue other subjects involved. There will be more arrests."
Attorney General Pam Bondi said the suspect is accused of taking FBI body armor and weaponry and noted his prior violent-offense record. In a post on X, Bondi said the case highlights the dangers faced by federal agents and criticized Minnesota leadership for what she described as an environment that "encourages lawbreaking."
White House border czar Tom Homan told Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle" that the person who allegedly stole a firearm from an FBI vehicle "is now wearing a set of handcuffs in custody," and that additional arrests are expected as clashes continue between protesters and federal officers.
The alleged theft took place amid protests in Minneapolis following an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation. The Department of Homeland Security said an ICE agent shot a Venezuelan national in the leg after an alleged shovel attack during what officials described as an ambush.
Fox News Digital said it reached out to the Department of Justice for comment.
