Two sisters, ages 12 and 14, were found safe after a 19-year-old man allegedly groomed them through Roblox and Snapchat and drove from Omaha to Indiantown, Florida to meet them. Authorities identified the suspect as Hser Mu Lah Say, who was arrested and charged with kidnapping and interference with child custody. Investigators found evidence of romantic messaging and food deliveries that suggested grooming; no explicitly sexual content was reported in the initial review. The case remains under active investigation as detectives continue to examine devices and interview the family.

Two sisters, ages 12 and 14, were located safe after authorities say a 19-year-old man who had been communicating with them on the gaming platform Roblox and via Snapchat drove from Omaha, Nebraska, to Indiantown, Florida to meet them.

Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek identified the suspect at a Feb. 2 press conference as Hser Mu Lah Say, 19. Investigators say Lah Say drove roughly 22–23 hours, departing Omaha on Friday, Jan. 30 and arriving in Indiantown around 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31.

How Authorities Uncovered the Case

Family members reported the girls missing late the evening of Saturday, Jan. 31 after learning the sisters had gone to a local park earlier that morning. According to the sheriff’s office, a relative had found the girls at the park around 9 a.m., brought them home and disciplined them; their cell phones were confiscated as part of that discipline.

Relatives told deputies they suspected an individual had been communicating with the children. Detectives later determined the conversation began on Roblox in the summer of 2025 and moved to Snapchat. Although the Snapchat app had been deleted from the girls’ phones, investigators reinstalled it and reportedly found what the sheriff described as a “constant thread of communication.”

“This was a sobering case for us here at the county sheriff’s office, but we’re thankful with how it ended,” Sheriff John Budensiek said.

Evidence of Grooming and The Arrest

Officials said relatives had noticed food deliveries arriving at the home and other unusual activity, details that raised concerns the sisters were being groomed. Investigators described the messages as containing romantic exchanges, though they said they did not initially find explicitly sexual content.

Authorities believe the suspect returned to the park later the same morning and waited outside as the girls were disciplined at home. Investigators suspect the sisters used a family tablet to resume contact after their phones were confiscated.

The Georgia Highway Patrol located the suspect’s vehicle hours after the missing-person report; all three were found in the car. Lah Say was arrested and charged with two counts of kidnapping and two counts of interference with child custody. As of the press briefing, he was being held in Georgia while investigators worked on extradition paperwork to return him to Florida.

Ongoing Investigation and Safety Reminder

Detectives are continuing to review the recovered devices and interviewing the family and the sisters. Sheriff Budensiek said there is more work to be done to fully document the communication and intent.

Law enforcement urged parents and guardians to monitor online gaming and messaging activity, to be wary of strangers who move conversations from public gaming platforms to private messaging apps, and to report any suspicious contacts to local authorities.
