Two minors from Nezahualcóyotl—Mary Beabey, 16, and Sabine Yohumi, 10—were found alive at Mexico City's TAPO bus terminal after roughly a week missing. Authorities say a man allegedly contacted the girls via Roblox chat, prompting them to leave home; police initially checked an address in Campeche before locating them following a family tip. Specialized personnel cared for the children, and multiple state and local agencies are investigating the circumstances and whether charges will be filed.
Two Girls Found Alive at Mexico City Bus Terminal After Alleged Roblox Chat Lure

Two girls from Nezahualcóyotl, Mexico, who went missing earlier this month after reportedly being contacted through the online game Roblox’s chat feature, were located alive at Mexico City's East Passenger Bus Terminal (TAPO), authorities said.
The Municipal Government of Nezahualcóyotl said in a statement on Jan. 17 that 16-year-old Mary Beabey and 10-year-old Sabine Yohumi were found after roughly a week away from home. Mexican media have reported that the girls are sisters.
How Authorities Located the Girls
Investigators say a man allegedly communicated with the minors via Roblox chat, which prompted them to leave their Nezahualcóyotl home on Jan. 9 carrying suitcases. Police initially visited an address in Campeche connected to the case but did not find the girls there. Following a tip from a family member, officers located Mary and Sabine at TAPO; authorities believe the girls traveled to Mexico City from Campeche.
Official Response and Care
Police described the girls' absence as "presumed voluntary" based on information gathered so far. Specialized personnel provided care to the children once they were located. Photos released by officials show the two girls accompanied by law enforcement at the terminal; descriptions of their clothing were included in the release.
"The matter remains under investigation," authorities said, as they continue to review how the online contact occurred and whether criminal charges will follow.
Multiple agencies assisted in the inquiry, including police in Campeche, the Commission of Searching Persons of the State of Mexico and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office. PEOPLE contacted the General Police Station of Civil Security of Nezahualcóyotl for comment about the alleged suspect and any potential charges but had not received an immediate response.
Missing-person reports remained active while the girls were away, and their parents reportedly obtained security camera footage showing them leaving their home alone on Jan. 9 with suitcases.
