Groom From $59 Million Paris Wedding Set For January Trial After Alleged Shooting
Jacob LaGrone, who gained notoriety for his lavish five-day Paris wedding to car-dealership heiress Madelaine Brockway, is scheduled to stand trial on Jan. 8, 2026, after being accused of firing a weapon at three North Texas police officers in March 2023, according to court records obtained by WFAA.
Law enforcement filings and an indictment obtained by The Washington Post say officers responded to multiple calls about shots fired inside a private home and were allegedly "fired upon" when they arrived. The indictment alleges LaGrone "intentionally and knowingly threatened imminent bodily injury" and used or exhibited a deadly weapon — a firearm. He was arrested and indicted on three counts of aggravated assault on a public servant, a first-degree felony in Texas.
LaGrone was released on a $20,000 bond and made an initial court appearance on Nov. 30, 2023 — roughly two weeks after his high-profile Paris wedding. If convicted, he faces up to 99 years in prison; The Dallas Morning News reported a 25-year plea offer from the Tarrant County District Attorney's office.
Wedding And Personal Details
LaGrone married Madelaine Brockway, daughter of car-dealership owner Bob Brockway, in a widely publicized five-day ceremony staged at several Paris landmarks. The itinerary reportedly included an overnight stay at the Palace of Versailles, a private lunch in the Chanel Haute Couture Suite, a rehearsal dinner at the Paris Opera House, and vows at Château de Vilette. Media reports estimated the wedding cost at about $59 million.
Following the arrest, Brockway largely stepped back from social media for several months before posting travel photos with LaGrone in summer 2024. She announced a pregnancy in January 2025 and confirmed the birth of their child, Rhône Day, in June 2025.
