Over 200 Wounded in Tubas as West Bank Raids Intensify

Israeli forces have wounded more than 200 Palestinians in a series of raids across the Tubas governorate of the occupied West Bank, with 78 people reported to have required hospital treatment by local medical authorities.

After withdrawing from Tammun and the Far'a refugee camp on Friday, troops shifted operations to the city of Tubas and the nearby villages of Aqqaba and Tayaseer. Local officials say nearly 200 people were detained over four days; most were questioned on site and released, while at least eight were transferred to Israeli military detention facilities.

Separate military actions in Qalqilya, Jenin and Nablus produced additional arrests. Local sources reported a pre-dawn operation in Qalqilya in which five people — including two children and a woman — were detained.

Officials and local leaders say violent raids by soldiers and attacks by armed settlers have escalated since October 2023, with an average of 47 army incursions per day across the West Bank in November. The mayor of Tammun described this week's operations as the most destructive the town has experienced, reporting more than 1.5 km of roads ripped up, water networks damaged, private property vandalized and widespread beatings.

In the Jenin refugee camp, bulldozers are preparing to demolish at least 23 more Palestinian homes. Military notices cited the need to secure "freedom of movement" for forces, despite the area being largely empty after prior displacement. The buildings slated for demolition housed 340 people; only 47, mostly women, were allowed to return briefly to collect personal belongings.

Residents said they were given two hours to gather what they could, and some reported being unable to recognize their homes because of the level of destruction.

The armed wing of Palestinian Islamic Jihad said its fighters carried out attacks on Israeli soldiers during raids in Jenin and Tubas, reporting the use of an antipersonnel explosive device against a foot patrol in Wadi al-Tayaseer and explosive attacks on military vehicles in parts of Silat al-Harithiya.

Since October 2023, Israeli operations in the West Bank have been linked to at least 1,086 Palestinian deaths, including 223 children; at least 251 were recorded in 2025. More than 10,662 Palestinians have been reported wounded in the wider Gaza war, and over 20,500 people have been detained. As of early November, 9,204 Palestinians were held in Israeli jails, of whom 3,368 were reportedly detained without charge. At least 94 deaths in custody have been documented since October 2023.
