Israeli forces shot and killed Uday al-Maqadma east of Gaza City amid continued claims of ceasefire violations. Since the October truce, Gaza authorities report at least 411 Palestinians killed and 1,112 injured, while aid deliveries average just 244 trucks per day versus the 600 mandated by the agreement. Settler attacks and Israeli raids have intensified in the West Bank, leading to injuries and multiple detentions. UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon also reported coming under heavy fire from positions they say are Israeli.
Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian East of Gaza City as West Bank Raids and Settler Violence Escalate

Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian man east of Gaza City on Friday, amid continuing allegations of ceasefire breaches and a wider uptick in raids and settler attacks across the occupied West Bank.
Local reports identify the victim as Uday al-Maqadma. The Palestinian news agency Wafa said Israeli soldiers opened fire while he was sitting near the entrance of a school in Gaza; he was taken to hospital in critical condition and later died of his wounds, Wafa reported.
Officials and local media say Israel has continued deadly operations and maintained tight restrictions on humanitarian aid in Gaza since the truce began in October. According to Gaza authorities, at least 411 Palestinians have been killed and 1,112 injured during the period following the October ceasefire.
Wafa also reported earlier this week that two Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli soldiers in the Shujayea neighbourhood, east of Gaza City.
Humanitarian access has remained limited despite the truce. The Gaza Government Media Office said the average daily entry of aid trucks this week was 244 — well below the 600 per day stipulated under the truce agreement, leaving many displaced families short of essential supplies and temporary shelter during severe winter storms.
Escalation Across the West Bank
At the same time, Wafa and local activists reported intensified settler attacks and Israeli military raids across the occupied West Bank. Incidents cited include a municipal worker injured by settlers outside Nablus and Palestinian farmers detained while attempting to work their land east of Tubas.
Raid operations around Hebron also led to multiple detentions in the communities of Yatta and Beit Ummar. Activists say those detained included a woman, four children and an elderly man who was arrested after settlers allegedly damaged the fence surrounding his home. Local campaigners and residents say Israeli authorities rarely hold settlers accountable for violence against Palestinian communities.
Related Violence and Regional Tensions
In northern Israel, police and emergency services reported that two people were killed when a Palestinian man from the occupied West Bank rammed his car into a crowd in Beit She'an. The incident followed footage that circulated showing an Israeli settler running over a Palestinian man who was praying at the side of a road in the West Bank.
Beyond the West Bank and Gaza, Israeli forces have carried out near-daily strikes in Lebanon, which officials say breach the ceasefire there. United Nations peacekeepers (UNIFIL) said on Friday they again came under "heavy machinegun fire" from Israeli positions in southern Lebanon; UNIFIL reported that live ammunition and a grenade landed close to a patrol inspecting a roadblock in the village of Bastara.
"UNIFIL had informed the [Israeli military] about the activities in those areas in advance, following usual practice for patrols in sensitive areas near the Blue Line," the force said in a statement.
"Attacks on or near peacekeepers are serious violations of Security Council Resolution 1701. We reiterate our call to the [Israeli military] to cease aggressive behaviour and attacks on or near peacekeepers working for peace and stability along the Blue Line."
