Three defence executives were detained in Turkey on 25 November 2025 on suspicion of spying for foreign powers. Prosecutors say three were arrested and a fourth is wanted abroad after an operation targeting four people connected to the alleged plot. Authorities say the suspects tried to pass on 'biographical' details about employees to foreign states; an initial reference to UAE intelligence was later removed. President Erdogan noted Turkey's defence exports rose 29% to $7.15bn in 2024, helped by drone sales.
