Conservative 'MAGA Invasion' at Disneyland Scheduled the Same Weekend as Gay Days Anaheim; Organizers Say Overlap Makes It 'More Fun'

A Southern California conservative group called 805 Patriots posted an unsanctioned invitation for a self-styled "MAGA invasion" of Disneyland, scheduling the meetup for Feb. 28, 2026. The group's announcement coincides with local LGBTQ+ programming from Gay Days Anaheim taking place that same weekend, a timing the organizers say they did not deliberately plan but now call a reason to attend.

What the organizers said

The 805 Patriots shared an infographic and social posts urging "like-minded patriots" to gather in the park, instructing attendees to "wear a 'patriots in the park' T-shirt & a red MAGA hat." The group is also selling "Make Disney Great Again" apparel for adults, children and infants and suggested that purchasing a shirt counted as an RSVP.

Gay Days Anaheim and Disneyland's role

Gay Days Anaheim plans "Mini Gay Days" over the weekend of Feb. 28, while its larger annual meetup is scheduled for September 2026. Neither the 805 Patriots gathering nor Gay Days Anaheim activities are official Disneyland Resort events.

Disneyland has long hosted or permitted a variety of fan-organized meetups—such as Dapper Days and other themed gatherings—but the resort emphasizes that these are unofficial and that it reserves the right to deny entry or remove guests for dress-code or behavior violations. Separately, Disneyland announced its ticketed "After Dark" series for 2026 will include an official "Pride Nite" on June 16 and 18, offering rainbow projections, themed décor, entertainment and community-focused programming.

Safety, park rules and public response

The 805 Patriots discouraged attendees from bringing flags, noting the park's prohibition on certain flags and large banners. Observers and Disneyland-goers raised concerns about the potential for confrontation when politically charged groups and community events overlap in public spaces.
