Newsom Trolls White House 'GOLDEN AGE' Post by Posting Photo of Trump and Epstein

California Gov. Gavin Newsom fired back at a White House post celebrating a Trump-era "GOLDEN AGE" by sharing a photo of Donald Trump with Jeffrey Epstein. The move follows the release of roughly 20,000 pages of documents in which Epstein suggested Trump "knew about the girls." Newsom has since posted multiple viral satirical images and also criticized Trump on health and climate matters. The White House has not been accused of criminal wrongdoing; The Daily Beast sought comment.

Newsom Responds to White House 'GOLDEN AGE' Post with Epstein Photo

California Gov. Gavin Newsom escalated his public attacks on President Donald Trump over the weekend, replying to an official White House X post celebrating a new "GOLDEN AGE" with a provocative image of Trump alongside the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The White House post, which included a photo of Trump and the caption, "Since President Trump took office, companies have invested trillions of dollars into their U.S.-based operations—onshoring and creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs for Americans," has attracted millions of views. Newsom's reply — sharing a photo of Epstein and a 79-year-old Trump — offered a starkly different framing of the White House message.

Context: Newly Released Documents

The exchange followed the publication of roughly 20,000 pages of documents in which Epstein allegedly wrote that Trump had "spent hours" at Epstein's home with one of Epstein's victims and "knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop." When those documents were posted, Newsom shared a screenshot of a New York Times story and taunted Republican Ohio senator JD Vance with the caption: "Color me shocked. Any comment, @JDVance?"

"knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop."

Further Attacks and Viral Posts

Since the document release, Newsom has posted several satirical and critical images that went viral. One altered an image of renovations to the West Wing colonnade — replacing a hypothetical "Presidential Walk of Fame" sign with the words "I am a pedo" — a post that has been viewed more than 3.3 million times. Another used an AI-generated cartoon of a smiling Trump and Epstein on a tropical island, captioned "Island Boys."

Trump has repeatedly denied being close friends with Epstein, saying he distanced himself after Epstein was placed on the sex-offender registry in 2008 following a guilty plea to solicitation involving a minor. Epstein had previously described himself as the president's "closest friend." The president has not been accused of any crimes in connection with Epstein, and the released messages were not sent or received by the president.

The Daily Beast has reached out to the White House for comment.

Other Criticisms from Newsom

Newsom has also targeted Trump on other issues. After the president described recent MRI results as "outstanding" but admitted he did not know what his doctors were reviewing, Newsom posted on X: "Please pray for our President. He is not mentally well." The governor also criticized Trump's absence from the U.N. COP30 climate summit in Brazil and accused him of "doubling down on stupid" during a climate conference appearance.
