President Trump said his latest medical exam — his second in six months — produced "outstanding" physical results and a perfect score on an advanced mental‑acuity test. He also underwent an MRI but said he did not know what parts were analyzed. The White House has described recent visits to Walter Reed as routine, and Trump did not release full 2024 medical records despite earlier promises. Trump Calls Latest Physical "Outstanding" and Says He Got a "Perfect" Mental‑Acuity Score
President Donald Trump on Friday described the results of his most recent medical exam — his second in six months — as "outstanding," saying he achieved a perfect score on an advanced mental‑acuity test while acknowledging that he does not know the specifics of what doctors examined during an MRI.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump quoted his doctor as saying it was the best result the physician had ever seen. "I had an MRI as part of my standard, yearly, or, I think they do it every two years, but I have the physical every year — and the result was outstanding," he said.
"I have no idea what they analyzed, but whatever they analyzed, they analyzed it well," Trump told reporters. "And they said that I had as good a result as they've ever seen."
He also touted the results of a mental‑acuity assessment: "I aced it. I got a perfect score. I got the highest score. I got a perfect score," he said, adding that cognitive testing is one subject that could be removed from scrutiny "unlike [former President Joe] Biden and others."
The remarks come amid continued public debate over the cognitive fitness of senior political leaders. Over the past year Trump was among the most vocal figures questioning then‑President Biden's cognitive health, and Democrats have in turn raised questions about Trump's own mental acuity; Trump is 79.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt previously described what was then Trump's second visit to Walter Reed Medical Center that year as part of a "routine yearly check up." The president had also visited the Maryland facility in April. Despite promises during the 2024 campaign to release full medical records, Trump did not make his full 2024 medical records public.
Why it matters
Presidential health and transparency are recurring issues in U.S. politics. While Trump emphasizes strong test results, the lack of released medical records and limited detail about diagnostic tests such as the MRI leave some questions unanswered for reporters and the public.
