President Trump touted his mobility at a Denton, Texas campaign event, saying he could "go ramp" or "go stair" while taking a jab at Joe Biden's ability to find stairs. The remarks came at a Peterbilt Motors plant where he was campaigning for Senate candidate Ken Paxton. Trump also highlighted manufacturing gains, claiming heavy truck shipments reached an all-time high under his administration. The comments recalled a viral 2020 West Point ramp descent and follow other public remarks about moving carefully on stairs and aircraft.
Trump Boasts ‘I Can Go Ramp, I Can Go Stair’ at Denton Rally, Takes a Shot at Biden

President Donald Trump, 80, boasted about his mobility while speaking to supporters at a campaign event in Denton, Texas, saying he could "go ramp" or "go stair" as he pointed to multiple stairways around the stage.
The remarks came at a Peterbilt Motors Company plant where Trump was campaigning for Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton in the run-up to the midterm elections. He used the moment to contrast his own steadiness with what he described as former President Joe Biden's difficulty in finding stairs at a previous event.
Rally Moment
"Some day I'm gonna trip. I'll be walking down..." Trump said. He then criticized Biden’s brief stage exit at a past event: "Don't forget, when Biden left the stage — he spoke very shortly, like two minutes, one minute ... he could never find the stairs. I don't have that problem." The line drew scattered applause from the crowd.
"Look, I can go ramp, I can go stair, I can go another stair. Another stair in the back. I have a stair," Trump declared, pointing to staircases on the stage.
Policy and Context
Alongside the personal barb, Trump highlighted his administration's record on manufacturing, saying, "heavy truck shipments have hit an all-time high, the highest in the history of our country under the Trump administration," and adding, "So American trucking is back."
Trump’s stair comments echo a viral moment from 2020, when his descent down a long ramp at the West Point commencement looked slow and deliberate. He later defended the pace on X, saying the ramp was "very long & steep, had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery," and that he avoided falling for the media.
He has referenced careful movement several times since, telling The Dan Bongino Show in February that he moves "nice and slowly" when boarding or disembarking aircraft to avoid accidents. In a lighter moment last year in Quantico, Virginia, Trump even praised Barack Obama’s confident stair descent, mimicking it and calling it "great."
At the Denton rally, Trump blended personal jabs with policy boasts — a typical mix of character commentary and campaign messaging as he rallied support ahead of the midterms.
