An investigation into a suspected murder has been launched after a 24-year-old e‑bike rider died following a collision with a moped in west London.

Emergency services were called to North Pole Road in North Kensington at about 01:20 BST on Friday, where they found the man with serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

Police say the inquiry is at an early stage, but detectives believe the moped had been pursuing the e‑bike prior to the crash.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John said detectives were "pursuing a number of lines of inquiry, including efforts to identify and trace the rider of the moped" and added: "Our thoughts are with the victim's family at what is a very difficult time."

Officers have launched a full investigation and are appealing for anyone who was in the area around 01:20 BST and may have seen either the e‑bike or the moped to come forward. If you have information that could help, please contact the Metropolitan Police.
