A 29-year-old man identified by family as Kyle Bickham died after being pushed from a moving Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Red Line train on September 7, authorities said.
Chicago police say the incident occurred at about 2:40 p.m. when three people allegedly pushed Bickham from a train car during an altercation. He fell onto the electrified third rail and was then struck by an oncoming train. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Charges And Investigation
The Chicago Police Department announced that a 15-year-old girl has been charged with first-degree murder. She also faces additional felony counts, including mob action and felony assault of a transit employee. Police said the investigation remains ongoing and did not specify whether the other suspects have been identified.
Family Response And Funeral Fund
Bickham's family has urged anyone with information or who witnessed the incident to contact investigators. His mother, Latanya Bickham, told ABC7 that Kyle worked long hours and was trying to build a future for himself.
“He was just trying to make an honest day's living, and this is what happened,” said Latanya Bickham.
To help cover funeral expenses, Bickham's brother, Chris Bickham Jr., set up a GoFundMe campaign. On the page he described Kyle as “a son, brother, uncle, family member, and friend who was loved by so many,” and asked for support to give him a proper funeral.

Family members said Bickham had been returning home after finishing an overnight shift at an Amazon facility in Cicero when the attack occurred. The Chicago Police Department continues to investigate and is asking anyone with video or information to come forward.
