Senator Elizabeth Warren accused President Trump of putting his family’s cryptocurrency profits ahead of the public interest, citing ventures such as World Liberty Financial and the TRUMP memecoin. She noted World Liberty Trust Co. received conditional approval for a national trust bank charter, which she called an additional avenue for profit. Warren said the family's crypto dealings complicated the CLARITY Act, which later failed a key Senate vote. Trump's 2025 disclosure reportedly shows more than $1.4 billion in crypto-related earnings.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) on Thursday accused President Donald Trump of prioritizing his family's financial interests over the public good, saying the Trump family "made billions" from cryptocurrency ventures and that those interests now present new profit opportunities.

Warren pointed to ventures including World Liberty Financial (WLFI) and the Official TRUMP memecoin, and highlighted that World Liberty Trust Co. recently received conditional approval for a national trust bank charter — which she described as "a new way to profit."

Warren's Claim And Evidence

Warren posted on X that the Trump family’s crypto activities created substantial personal revenue and complicated the legislative process for the CLARITY Act. The senator warned the bill lacked sufficient ethics safeguards and said it would "turbocharge Trump's unprecedented corruption." The legislation later failed a key Senate vote.

First, Trump's family made billions from crypto. Then his crypto company got a federal bank charter, giving him and his family a new way to profit. Trump's not working for you. He's working for himself. — Elizabeth Warren (@ewarren) October 1, 2026

Financial Disclosure Figures

According to President Trump's 2025 financial disclosure, his crypto-related earnings exceeded $1.4 billion. The filing reportedly lists more than $520 million from World Liberty Financial token sales and over $635 million in royalties tied to the TRUMP memecoin.

Responses And Context

The White House has dismissed allegations of conflicts of interest. A World Liberty Financial spokesperson told Benzinga the banking charter in question will ensure "permanent regulatory supervision" that would outlast the current administration.

Warren and other critics say the combination of large personal crypto earnings and a newly approved charter for a trust bank raise legitimate ethics and oversight questions. Supporters of the ventures say regulatory supervision and standard disclosure rules address those concerns.
