The widely shared stills are cropped, sharpened and altered compared with low-quality frames pulled from a minute‑long video that appears to be authentic. Direct comparisons demonstrate the enhanced images and the blurry video frames share the same vantage point, indicating the stills were derived from the original clip rather than captured separately.

News reports identify the boy as Muhammad al‑Zinati (محمد الزيناتي) and place the incident in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of Gaza City on Sept. 15, 2026.
