Relatives and friends say the circumstances are alarming: Forbes' two phones (including a work phone), wallet, laptop and car were left at her home, her dog Max remained inside, and the front door was unlocked.
What Authorities and Family Say
The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed an active investigation and has circulated a missing-person poster asking anyone with information to come forward. Forensic teams spent hours collecting items from the residence, and investigators continue to follow leads.
'We are in absolute shock and horror,' said Aileen Forbes, Antoinette's older sister. 'She is a devoted mother and would not leave her son or her dog.'
