A Tennessee family is urgently searching for Courtney Reese, 36, who vanished after being dropped off outside the Loads of Clothes laundromat in Donelson on Aug. 18. Reese, who lives in Lebanon, Tenn., was last seen that afternoon and her disappearance has left relatives and volunteers scrambling for information.
What Happened
According to a missing-persons alert posted by the Wilson County Sheriff's Office, Reese was dropped off at the laundromat at about 1 p.m. local time on Aug. 18. She called people afterward, trying to find someone to pick her up, but no one was available. Her mother, Bonnie Oliver, said she last spoke with Reese at 5:52 p.m. that day, when Courtney asked for a ride home.

Reese is described as having black hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and jean shorts.

Family Concerns
Reese is the mother of a three-month-old son, born May 23. Her mother, Oliver, who has endured three prior miscarriages, told reporters she cannot imagine Courtney willingly abandoning the infant. "She has to come home," Oliver said. "He's too important, and I know he's important to her. I know that without a shadow of a doubt." Oliver also said she calls her daughter's phone every day and is distraught by not knowing her whereabouts.
Search Efforts
On Sunday, Sept. 6, volunteers responded to a tip and searched a wooded area in the region with the help of a cadaver dog after reports of a bad odor. Organizers later said they believed the smell came from an animal and the search did not locate Reese. Local media affiliates WSMV and WKRN have reported on the ongoing search and community concern.
