Italians Confront U.S. ICE Agents at Winter Olympics — Viral Videos Ignite Debate Over Sovereignty and Security

Footage circulating on TikTok and reported by CNN shows Italian demonstrators confronting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents stationed at Winter Olympics venues. The videos, widely shared online, capture protesters approaching uniformed personnel and loudly objecting to their presence at the Games.

Marco Furfaro, a member of Italy's Democratic Party and a deputy in parliament, said: 'ICE is not welcome in Italy in any form. The government should have said only this: our country is strongly opposed to the presence, even minimal or symbolic, of a militia so incompatible with our constitution and our values at the Olympic Games.'

Supporters of the demonstrations argue that the presence of U.S. immigration agents at an international sporting event is incompatible with Italian laws and values, while others have questioned the role and jurisdiction of foreign law-enforcement personnel on Italian soil.
