Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said federal agents shot another person in Minneapolis and urged the Trump administration to halt its immigration enforcement operation in the state. Walz told the White House the shooting was "sickening" and demanded the removal of what he described as "thousands of violent, untrained officers." Minneapolis officials are investigating a reported shooting in south Minneapolis and asked the public to remain calm and avoid the area.

WASHINGTON, Jan 24 (Reuters) — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said federal agents shot another person in Minneapolis and urged the Trump administration to immediately end its immigration enforcement operation in the state.
"I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning," Walz wrote on social media platform X. "This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now."
Minneapolis officials said they were investigating reports that a man had been shot in south Minneapolis. The City of Minneapolis asked residents to "remain calm and avoid the immediate area" while authorities look into the incident.
The governor's statement followed reports of federal immigration enforcement activity in the state. Local and federal authorities have not provided further details in the immediate aftermath; investigations are ongoing.
