Keith Roberts Jr. Allegedly Shoots Ex-Girlfriend Myshaela Burnham Dead at Her Bradenton Office; Coworker Wounded

Bradenton, Fla. — A 29-year-old man has been arrested after police say he fatally shot his ex-girlfriend inside her workplace and wounded a coworker who witnessed the attack.
What Happened
According to the Bradenton Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 12:48 p.m. on Thursday in a medical and office complex on the 5200 block of 4th Avenue Circle East. Authorities identified the suspect as Keith Roberts Jr., 29, and the deceased victim as his former girlfriend, Myshaela Burnham, 29.
Allegations and Eyewitness Accounts
Police say Roberts entered an unlocked office suite, went directly to Burnham's desk and opened fire at close range. Bradenton Police Chief Jason Cramer told WFLA that the shot was fired at point-blank range and that some of the gunfire struck a female coworker who was seated at an adjoining desk. That woman remains hospitalized; her name has not been released.
“He walked in an unlocked door and went directly to the desk where the victim was — knowing that’s where her desk was — and directly opened fire at point blank range,” Chief Cramer said. “Some of it hit the other victim who was at an adjoining desk.”
Investigation and Arrest
Multiple 911 callers reported seeing a vehicle leave the scene shortly after the shooting. Those reports helped investigators identify the car and track its direction toward the DeSoto Bridge. Officers located and detained a suspect in Palmetto within roughly 25 minutes of the incident. Detectives with the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit later interviewed the suspect, and Roberts was arrested shortly before 6 p.m., police said.
Roberts faces charges of first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted first-degree murder with a firearm. According to Manatee County online booking records, he is being held at the Manatee County Jail without bond. The investigation remains active as officers continue to review witness statements, 911 recordings and evidence from the scene.
Note: All allegations are according to police statements and the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
