The Texas Department of Public Safety issued an AMBER Alert after 15-year-old Maryuri Yolani Gomez Marquez was last seen in Plains, Texas, around 8 a.m. on Dec. 28. She was reportedly with 41-year-old Juan Orlando Garcia Sarmiento, who is now wanted by law enforcement. Authorities say Maryuri is believed to be in grave or immediate danger; a 2010 black Ford with Texas plate WGV9997 is linked to the case. What Happened

Maryuri was last seen in Plains, Texas, at about 8 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). Authorities say she was last observed in the company of 41-year-old Juan Orlando Garcia Sarmiento, who is currently wanted by law enforcement.

Suspect And Vehicle

The Yoakum County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Sarmiento is wanted on “related charges,” though officials have not released further details about the alleged offenses. Police have not said whether Maryuri and Sarmiento are related.

Authorities included a vehicle description in the AMBER Alert: a 2010 black Ford with Texas license plate WGV9997 is connected to the case. Members of the public are asked to be vigilant for this vehicle.
