Two Brothers Killed by Drone Strike in Bani Suheila Despite Ceasefire

Two brothers, Juma and Fadi Tamer Abu Assi, were killed after a drone struck civilians near al‑Farabi School in Bani Suheila. Medics said the attack occurred beyond the ceasefire's "Yellow Line."

Additional Israeli ground, naval and air operations wounded others in al‑Qarara, Tuffah and eastern Rafah. The incidents follow repeated reported breaches of the October 10 truce amid heavy civilian casualties in Gaza since October 2023.

Two Brothers Killed by Drone Strike in Bani Suheila Despite Ceasefire

Two Palestinian children were killed when a drone strike struck a group of civilians near al‑Farabi School in the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis, medical sources said.

Witnesses said the strike hit the brothers, identified by medics as Juma and Fadi Tamer Abu Assi, on Saturday morning. The boys were rushed to the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis with critical injuries and were later pronounced dead, according to hospital staff.

Sources reported the strike occurred beyond the so‑called Yellow Line — the redeployment boundary set under the ceasefire that took effect on October 10. Local medical sources said this incident follows earlier reports of drone fire beyond that line in Bani Suheila.

On the same day, the Israeli military conducted ground, naval and air operations across several parts of Gaza. Medical personnel reported that three Palestinians were wounded by artillery and air bombardment in al‑Qarara, northeast of Khan Younis. Separate raids were reported in the Tuffah neighbourhood in eastern Gaza City and in eastern areas of Rafah in the south of the strip.

These incidents come amid repeated reported violations of the October 10 truce. Reports cite that since October 2023 nearly 70,000 people in Gaza — the majority women and children — have been killed and more than 170,000 injured. Hamas has called on the international community to press Israel to uphold the ceasefire terms.

What we know: Two brothers were killed near a school in Bani Suheila; the strike reportedly took place beyond the ceasefire redeployment line. Additional strikes and bombardments across Gaza on the same day wounded others and raised concerns about ongoing breaches of the truce.
