Aurora Restaurant Shooting Kills Two, Leaves One Critically Injured — Police Cite Possible Domestic Link

Two people were killed and a third remains in critical condition after a shooting at Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora, Illinois, on the evening of Saturday, Nov. 22. Police say officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire at about 9:10 p.m. and found three people with gunshot wounds.

What authorities say

Officials believe one of the three was the shooter and that person was pronounced dead at the scene. A man and a woman were taken to a nearby hospital; the woman later died and the man remains in critical condition. Investigators say preliminary information indicates all three individuals knew one another and that the incident appears to be related to domestic violence.

Investigation and next steps

The Kane County Coroner's Office will conduct autopsies to confirm the identities of the deceased and release names when appropriate. Police spokespersons say detectives are continuing to interview witnesses and review available evidence to determine the motive and sequence of events.

“Our hearts are heavy tonight. Members of our community were senselessly shot while simply trying to enjoy a night out, and our entire city feels the weight of that violence,” said Chief Matt Thomas. “On behalf of the department, I want the victims and their families to know we are standing with you and doing everything we can to make sure you have answers.”

Eyewitness accounts

Patrons at the restaurant said the shooting occurred while a live band was performing and that diners rushed for cover when shots rang out. The musical act released a brief statement saying members were "shaken" and grieving the loss, adding they were grateful to be safe and asked people to hold their loved ones close.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Aurora Police Department Investigations Division at (630) 256-5500. Authorities ask that anyone with video or other relevant evidence preserve it and reach out so it can be reviewed as part of the investigation.

Further details, including formal identifications, potential charges and additional investigative findings, will be released as the coroner's office and investigators complete their work.
