Loomer Says “LOOMERED” After Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Surprise Resignation

Laura Loomer publicly claimed credit for Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s surprise announcement that she will not return to Congress after the Christmas recess, replying “LOOMERED” on X. The two have been locked in a bitter feud that intensified after former President Donald Trump disavowed Greene. Loomer attacked Greene online, speculated about media deals and future campaigns, and repeated allegations about the timing and motives of Greene’s resignation. Greene said she would not be a “battered wife” amid sustained attacks and accused allies of the former president of spending “tens of millions” to undermine her.

Loomer Says “LOOMERED” After Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Surprise Resignation

Far-right activist and influencer Laura Loomer publicly took credit for the surprise resignation of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, replying “LOOMERED” on X minutes after Greene announced she would not return to Congress after the Christmas recess.

The exchange capped a long-running and increasingly bitter feud between the two women. Tensions escalated last week after former President Donald Trump publicly disavowed Greene, who had previously been one of his staunchest backers.

Immediate reaction

Loomer launched a rapid series of posts after Greene’s announcement, suggesting the timing of the resignation was calculated to serve Republican interests and accusing Greene of preparing to position herself for future media deals or campaigns.

“She will probably get a deal with CNN or MSDNC to s--t talk Trump all day throughout the midterms,” Loomer wrote. “She wants the Democrats to win. How much was she paid? That’s what I want to know.”

In further posts, Loomer speculated Greene might still appear on future ballots and predicted a potential 2028 presidential bid. She also framed Greene’s resignation as emotional and strategic, at one point attributing the behavior to gendered motives.

“I hate when women pretend like they are done so you will chase them and beg them to stay. It’s such female behavior,” Loomer wrote. “MTG wants Trump to chase her. When someone leaves, open the door for them and then change the locks so they can’t return. Goodbye!”

Claims of influence and wider fallout

Loomer, who hosts the online program Loomer Unleashed, has previously claimed to maintain a direct line to the White House and said at least 16 administration officials were removed after failing her so-called "loyalty tests." The White House has sought to downplay her role, describing her influence as "vastly overrated."

Greene’s relationship with the White House had reportedly been strained by disagreements over a number of issues, including the handling of certain files and U.S. policy on Israel. In her resignation statement, Greene framed her departure in personal terms and accused fellow Republicans — including allies of the former president — of costly attacks against her campaign.

“I have too much self-respect and dignity, love my family way too much and do not want my sweet district to have to endure a hurtful and hateful primary against me by the president we all fought for, only to fight and win my election while Republicans will likely lose the midterms,” Greene said. “And in turn, be expected to defend the president against impeachment after he hatefully dumped tens of millions of dollars against me and tried to destroy me.”

The resignation has prompted speculation about the future balance of power in the House and exposed continuing fractures within the Republican coalition. Loomer’s public celebration of Greene’s exit underscores how personal rivalries and media performances can shape political narratives in the current era.
