Marjorie Taylor Greene accused commentator Scott Jennings of lying after he said she "became a lib" and "went off the deep end" following a dispute over a potential Georgia statewide run. Greene posted on X highlighting Jennings' Bush White House and McConnell consultant background and cited her 98% voting record with Trump. Jennings said Trump’s refusal to back her state bid prompted her split from Trump and eventual exit from Congress. Greene also criticized Trump’s handling of Jeffrey Epstein materials and said a heated September call ended their communications.

Marjorie Taylor Greene accused conservative commentator Scott Jennings of lying after he suggested she "became a lib" and "went off the deep end" this year.

The retiring Georgia Republican — who severed ties with Donald Trump last month amid disputes that included the Jeffrey Epstein files — pushed back after Jennings' comments on ABC's This Week.

On the program, Jennings said: "MTG becomes a lib — I mean, that’s what happened this year. She got a little bit bent out of shape because the president wouldn’t support her for a statewide office in Georgia, which she was going to lose if she had gotten into it, by the way. So she goes off the deep end."

Greene, 51, responded on X by sharing a short bio of Jennings' career, highlighting his time in the Bush White House and his work as a consultant to Senator Mitch McConnell. She called him a "Bush neocon and Mitch McConnell consultant" and wrote, "I have a 98% voting record with Trump so I guess Scott is calling Trump liberal too."

Greene also accused Jennings of misleading viewers with "hot takes" and said he represented everything the America First movement opposed.

Jennings' Reply And Wider Context

Jennings, who did not immediately comment to reporters, appeared to address Greene's post indirectly on CNN, restating reporting that Trump declined to back her prospective Senate bid. "And ever since that moment, she turned against him on a number of issues, some domestic, some foreign policy. And Trump finally had enough of it, and they cut ties and she left Congress," he said. "She didn't have to quit, by the way. If she really wanted to go against Donald Trump or change the culture in Washington or whatever, she could have held on to her seat and done it from inside the institution."

Greene, who is in her final week in Congress, has broken with Trump on several issues, including foreign policy, health insurance and the handling of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein — a controversy that has shadowed Trump during his second term. She was among a small group of House Republicans who early on pushed the Department of Justice to release files tied to the late convicted sex offender.

Greene told The New York Times that during an angry September phone call Trump warned her, "My friends will get hurt," after she heard testimony from some of Epstein’s victims in a closed-door session. Greene says that call was the last time they spoke.

Before she announced her retirement around Thanksgiving, Trump publicly labeled Greene a "traitor," a statement Greene says preceded death threats and made her fear for her family's safety. According to reporting, Trump has declined to accept responsibility for those consequences.
