According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), several militants opened fire toward an area where Israeli soldiers were operating in Khan Younis earlier in the day. The military described the shooting as a violation of the ceasefire and said it responded by targeting Hamas positions across Gaza. No Israeli troops were reported injured.
The IDF added that forces assigned to the Southern Command remain deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove any imminent threats.
Separately, the military said it conducted strikes on a Hamas training compound in the Ain al-Hilweh area of southern Lebanon.
