Retired Fort Lewis Professor Flips Off Camera, Calls TPUSA Supporters 'Nazis' After Student Government Approves Chapter

What happened: David Kozak, a retired Fort Lewis College anthropology professor, was filmed on Nov. 7 flipping off a camera and calling supporters of Turning Point USA "Nazis" after the student government approved a TPUSA chapter.

Context: The ASFLC reversed an earlier denial of Jonah Flynn’s registration in an emergency vote following competing petitions — one opposing the chapter with more than 400 signatures and a counter-petition backing it with over 1,000 signatures.

College response: Fort Lewis confirmed Kozak retired in 2022 and emphasized its commitment to free expression and civil discourse.

On Nov. 7, a retired Fort Lewis College professor, David Kozak, was filmed angrily confronting students after the Associated Students of Fort Lewis College (ASFLC) voted to approve a Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter.

Video of the exchange shows Kozak flipping off the person recording and repeatedly shouting insults at the group. In the footage he is heard saying, "F— the Nazis," and calling the chapter's supporters "Nazis," "fascists," and "Nazi lovers."

"F— the Nazis," the video records Kozak saying. "Go on, fascists. Go on, Nazi lovers."

The emergency ASFLC vote on Nov. 7 reversed an earlier decision that had denied senior Jonah Flynn’s application to register the student organization. The episode followed weeks of campus debate: a petition opposing the chapter, launched Oct. 17, gathered more than 400 signatures accusing TPUSA of actions that "directly harm our community," while a later counter-petition backing the chapter amassed over 1,000 signatures.

Fort Lewis College, a small liberal arts institution in a region that leans Democratic, confirmed to Fox News Digital that Kozak retired in 2022 and is no longer employed by the college. A spokesperson said the college remains committed to academic excellence, free expression and civil discourse.

Kozak did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. The incident highlights the tensions that can arise on campuses when contentious national political groups are organized at the student level.
