Body of 21-year-old Max Walsh recovered during missing-person search
Leicestershire Police confirmed that the body of 21-year-old Max Walsh was recovered on Saturday, Nov. 15, after a search that followed his report as missing earlier that week.
Walsh was last seen on Thursday, Nov. 13, when he left his workplace in the village of Dordon, Warwickshire. He was reported missing after he did not return home following his shift.
Officers located his body in the rural parish of Snarestone, Leicestershire, close to where his vehicle had been found the previous day. Snarestone is roughly a 20-minute drive from Dordon.
A 66-year-old man has been arrested 'in connection with the discovery' of Walsh's body; his identity has not been released pending further enquiries. Leicestershire Police said the death is currently being treated as unexplained while investigators work to establish the full circumstances.
The force added that specialist officers are supporting Walsh's family during this time.
Local reaction and ongoing inquiries
Local reporting by Leicester Live indicated officers remained at the scene in Warwickshire on Sunday, Nov. 16, as enquiries continued. Neighbours expressed shock at the discovery and the unusually heavy police presence in the normally quiet area.
"I'm really shocked. I did see some police cars, but I didn't really understand what it was about," one resident told the outlet. Another said, "This is a quiet place and you don't normally see a lot of police around."
Police have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding Walsh's disappearance or the ongoing investigation and have asked anyone with information to contact Leicestershire Police.
