Philip Young, 49, has been remanded in custody and charged with 56 alleged sexual offences against his ex‑wife spanning 2010–2023, including multiple counts of rape and alleged administration of a substance to overpower a victim. Five other men have also been charged and are on bail. The victim, Joanne Young, waived her automatic right to anonymity and is being supported by specialist officers. All six defendants are due to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court.
Six Men Charged in Alleged 13-Year Campaign of Sexual Offences Against Ex‑Wife

A British man and five co‑defendants have been charged in connection with a series of alleged sexual offences against his ex‑wife that investigators say spanned 13 years.
Philip Young, 49, has been remanded in custody and faces a 56‑count indictment, including multiple counts of alleged rape and claims of administering a substance with the intent to overpower someone to enable sexual activity, Wiltshire Police said.
Charges and Co‑Defendants
In addition to the sexual offences, prosecutors say Young is charged with voyeurism, possession of indecent images of children and possession of extreme images. Five other men — currently on bail — have also been charged in relation to alleged offences against 48‑year‑old Joanne Young, who has voluntarily waived her automatic right to anonymity.
- Norman Macksoni, 47 — charged with one count of rape and possession of extreme images
- Dean Hamilton, 47 — charged with one count of rape, sexual assault by penetration and two counts of sexual touching
- Conner Sanderson Doyle, 31 — charged with sexual assault by penetration and sexual touching
- Richard Wilkins, 61 — charged with one count of rape and sexual touching
- Mohammed Hassan, 37 — charged with sexual touching
Wiltshire Police say the alleged incidents occurred between 2010 and 2023. All six men are scheduled to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court in southwest England.
Investigation and Support
"This is a significant update in a complex and extensive investigation," said Detective Superintendent Geoff Smith of Wiltshire Police.
Police said Joanne Young is being supported by specially trained officers and made the decision to waive anonymity after discussions with officers and support services. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said its specialist prosecutors authorised charges after reviewing the evidence and that it was in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings.
As these are allegations, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. The next formal hearing is due at Swindon Magistrates' Court.
