Linn Grant Takes One‑Shot Lead at The Annika

BELLEAIR, Fla. — Linn Grant rolled in a pair of 15-foot putts and carded five birdies to post a 5‑under 65 on Saturday at Pelican Golf Club, taking a one‑shot lead as she pursues a sixth consecutive year with at least one worldwide victory.

Grant missed just one green and only two fairways in near‑perfect conditions, closing her round with a birdie after getting up‑and‑down from a greenside bunker on the par‑5 14th. Her 54‑hole total stood at 14‑under 196 — one stroke ahead of Jennifer Kupcho.

Late surges and tight leaderboard: Nataliya Guseva of Russia surged with seven birdies over her final 10 holes to post a 63 and sit two shots back, a position she shared with Evian Championship winner Grace Kim (68). Kupcho carded a bogey‑free round and remained within striking distance but voiced frustration about slow play, saying the course felt roughly 100 yards shorter and that leaders had to wait on many shots.

“I hit a lot of greens. I think that's been my secret this week,” Grant said. “I'm feeling confident with my irons and going after pins. I'm having a lot of fun out there.”

Grant has gone 35 holes without a bogey heading into the final round. The 26‑year‑old Swede — an Arizona State alumna — is seeking her second LPGA victory. Her résumé includes wins on the Nordic Golf League (twice as an amateur), the Sunshine Ladies Tour in South Africa, the Ladies European Tour and the LET Access Series dating back to 2020.

With only this event and the CME Group Tour Championship left on the LPGA schedule for 2025, Grant has limited opportunities this season to add another win.

Defending champion Nelly Korda rebounded from early bogeys with three birdies in a four‑hole stretch later in her round but finished with a 68. Her 25‑foot birdie try on the 18th kissed the lip, and she then missed a 4‑foot par putt, leaving her six shots off the lead after a second‑round 63 briefly pulled her within three.

The final round promises drama at Pelican Golf Club as a tight group chases Grant, who will try to close out the week and preserve her streak of annual global victories.
