Victorian Christmas returns to Hull
A Victorian-themed Christmas weekend is coming to Hull this year, bringing family-friendly entertainment, live music and seasonal markets to the city centre on 29 and 30 November.
What to expect
Hosted by Hull Museums at the Museums Quarter, the two-day celebration will include a Victorian pantomime, a traditional fairground carousel and a staging of A Christmas Ghost Story by the Northern Academy of Performing Arts. The event will also explore the gifts and toys children received during the Victorian era.

Practical information
Opening hours for the Christmas weekend are 10:00–16:00 GMT on Saturday 29 November and 11:00–16:00 on Sunday 30 November. Organisers encourage visitors to dress in Victorian costume or other festive outfits to add to the atmosphere.
Councillor Rob Pritchard said the weekend would be "the perfect opportunity for families to come and get started with their Christmas shopping in a fantastically festive atmosphere" and hoped it would create "a truly magical, memorable atmosphere for everyone."
To help visitors travel, Hull Trains is offering free travel to and from Hull from Doncaster, Selby, Howden and Brough on selected services in November and December. Lou Mendham, Hull Trains' service delivery director, said the company was pleased to support access to the city's seasonal activities with free travel.
