A jury at the Old Bailey found Dante Forrest guilty of murdering 40-year-old Marvin Dickson and leaving his body in a bathtub at a Wood Green flat for about 10 days. Police were alerted on 20 September after a neighbour reported a strong smell and discovered the body. CCTV captured the pair together on 10 September carrying a takeaway pizza box that was later recovered with the victim's blood; forensic tests also linked blood to Forrest's clothing. A post-mortem recorded substantial blunt force trauma to the left side of Mr Dickson's head. Forrest, who denies the killing, will be sentenced on 18 November.

Guilty verdict at the Old Bailey
A jury at the Old Bailey has found Dante Forrest guilty of murdering 40-year-old Marvin Dickson and leaving his body in a bathtub at a Wood Green flat for around 10 days.
What happened
Police were called to the north London property on 20 September after a neighbour reported a dreadful smell. Officers discovered Mr Dickson's body at the flat that day. The court heard the men knew one another.
Evidence presented
CCTV footage showed Mr Dickson walking with Forrest in the early hours of 10 September, carrying a takeaway pizza box. That same box was later recovered in Forrest's flat and described in court as blood-stained. Forensic testing linked the victim's blood to the pizza box and to the shirt and trainers Forrest was wearing on the night in question.
A post-mortem examination concluded that Mr Dickson died as a result of substantial blunt force trauma to the left side of his head.
Court reaction and next steps
When the jury returned a guilty verdict, the victim's relatives in the public gallery wept. After the verdict was delivered, Judge Nigel Lickley KC told Forrest that he would be passing a life sentence. Forrest is due to be formally sentenced at the Old Bailey on 18 November. He continues to deny murdering Mr Dickson.
This report is based on evidence presented in open court at the Old Bailey and statements from police and forensic investigators.
