A Miami man says a woman he matched with on Tinder stole two watches from his Panorama Tower apartment, including a Rolex he values at $37,000. Police arrested 24‑year‑old Alexia Jocelyn Flores after the man identified her in a photo lineup and surveillance footage reportedly showed her leaving the building. Flores denies taking the watches and claims she may have been drugged and cannot remember parts of the night. She has pleaded not guilty, bond was set at $7,500, and a judge ordered her to stay away from the man while the case proceeds.

A Miami first date that appeared to end politely turned into a criminal investigation after a man says an expensive watch vanished from his apartment. The two matched on Tinder and went to dinner before returning to the man's unit in Panorama Tower on Brickell Bay Drive, authorities say.

Timeline of the Night

According to the arrest report and police statements, the pair spent several hours drinking at the apartment. At about 2:30 a.m., the man asked the woman to leave. Surveillance footage reportedly captured the two kissing in the building elevator as they parted, and the man arranged and paid for an Uber to take her home.

Missing Watches and Police Action

After returning to his apartment, the man said he discovered two watches missing from the nightstand beside his bed. One was a Rolex he valued at $37,000; he later provided police with a purchase receipt for that timepiece. He told investigators he did not see the woman take the watches and later found that she had blocked his calls.

Investigators reviewed building surveillance and say it showed the woman leaving the property. The following day the man gave a sworn statement and identified the woman, 24‑year‑old Alexia Jocelyn Flores, in a six‑person photo lineup.

Arrest, Charges and Defense

Miami police located Flores near North Miami Avenue and Northwest 21st Street in Wynwood and took her into custody. She was charged with grand theft for property valued at more than $20,000 but less than $100,000 and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. A judge set bond at $7,500. Flores has pleaded not guilty, a public defender was appointed to represent her, and a court order requires her to stay away from the man while the case proceeds.

Flores's Account: After being read her Miranda rights, Flores acknowledged meeting the man on Tinder, going to dinner and spending time at his apartment, but she denied taking the watches. She told investigators she believes she was drugged and cannot remember parts of the night — a claim the arrest affidavit notes she did not separately report to police.

Authorities say the investigation was prompted by the man's complaint, his sworn statement, and surveillance footage. As with any arrest, the charge is an allegation and Flores's guilt has not been established in court.
