Marianne Flippo, widow of an early Roblox employee, alleges a man she hired through Cowboys4Angels posed as a companion and manipulated her into transferring $5.95 million of an alleged $10 million buyout. Flippo says she was grieving, recovering from surgery and taking medications that impaired judgment when the transfers occurred. Banks flagged attempted transfers and recalled one wire before a joint Charles Schwab account received $5.95 million. The suit filed Sept. 14 seeks the return of the funds, a restraining order to stop further spending, and legal fees.

Summary: Marianne Flippo, the widow of an early Roblox employee, alleges that a man she met through an escort service posed as a companion but manipulated her into transferring millions from her inherited fortune. The claims appear in a complaint filed Sept. 14 in Manhattan Supreme Court and seek the return of $5.95 million as well as a court order to prevent further dissipation of funds.

Allegations And Legal Action

According to court documents obtained by The Independent, Flippo says Greggory Blaine Starr convinced her to fund a $10 million "buyout" of his contracts with Cowboys4Angels so he could leave the service and be with her exclusively. Flippo alleges Starr ultimately received $5.95 million after she opened a joint Charles Schwab account; he allegedly continued to press for the remaining $4 million before the scheme unraveled.

What The Complaint Says

"I now recognize that I was the victim of a horrendous scheme by Starr who is a sociopath who lacks any conscience," Flippo wrote in an affidavit attached to the complaint.

The complaint describes Flippo as grieving the abrupt 2024 death of her husband, Chad Flippo, and recovering from surgery while taking prescription medications that, she says, impaired her judgment. It states Starr used flattering attention, pressure and promises of love to gain her trust and financial cooperation.

Timeline And Key Details

Flippo and her late husband had been together since their teens; Chad worked as a programmer and joined Roblox in its early days, leaving Marianne a substantial inheritance after his suicide in August 2024. In December 2024, Flippo traveled to Italy to secure a medication she needs that became unavailable in the U.S. She says she hired Starr through Cowboys4Angels for that trip, paying about $27,000 for his accompaniment.

After returning to New York, repeated outreach from Cowboys4Angels and Starr led Flippo to pay roughly $150,000 in March 2025 for six months of exclusive companionship. Starr later moved into her Upper West Side apartment on Dec. 1, 2025, and Flippo alleges she signed further contracts and paid additional fees totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars for his continued services.

Bank Warnings And Joint Account

Flippo says she first attempted to wire $10 million to Cowboys4Angels, but JPMorgan Chase's fraud team flagged and recalled that transfer. A second bank similarly blocked an attempted transfer. Allegedly following Starr's instruction, Flippo opened a joint account at Charles Schwab in both their names and wired $5.95 million into it; the complaint says Starr then continued to demand the remaining $4 million.

Medical Condition And Vulnerability

The filings emphasize Flippo's lifelong struggle with vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a rare condition she says contributes to chronic pain, confusion and increased sensitivity to medications such as gabapentin and codeine. The complaint argues that her grief, recent surgery, infection and medication made her especially vulnerable to manipulation.

Responses And Next Steps

Starr, a West Point graduate whose social media indicates recent travel to Dubai, told The Independent he was unaware of the suit and ended a brief phone call sounding flustered. Cowboys4Angels declined to comment through a representative who responded to a text message. Attorney Larry Hutcher, who represents Flippo, said pursuing the lawsuit was the only way for her to "get her dignity back" and described the alleged conduct as extraordinary.

Flippo is seeking the return of the $5.95 million, attorneys' fees and court costs, and a temporary restraining order to stop Starr from spending any more of her assets while the matter proceeds.

Note On Allegations

All allegations above are taken from court filings and Flippo's affidavit. They have not been adjudicated in court, and Starr has denied knowledge of the lawsuit in brief comments to The Independent.
