Alexia Jocelyn Flores, 24, was arrested on Sept. 23 on one count of second-degree grand theft after a Miami man told police two watches — including a Rolex valued at $37,000 — disappeared from his bedside following a date arranged through the Tinder app, according to jail records and an arrest affidavit.
The affidavit says the pair met on Tinder and dined together on Sept. 19 before returning to the man's Miami residence at about 11:21 p.m. They reportedly spent "several hours drinking together," and at one point the man asked Flores to leave.
According to the document, Flores changed clothes in the bedroom and bathroom while the man remained on the living room couch. He later escorted her to the building elevator at roughly 2:43 a.m. After returning to his apartment, the man discovered two watches missing from his bedside table, one of them a Rolex he valued at $37,000.
"The victim did not see the defendant take the watches," the affidavit reads.
Investigators reviewed the apartment building's surveillance footage and say it shows the two entering the building together and Flores later leaving alone. Police arrested Flores three days after the alleged incident and interviewed her at Miami Police headquarters.
Flores denied taking the watches and told officers she had been drugged and could not recall what happened afterward, the affidavit states. Police say they found no report corroborating her claim. Flores pleaded not guilty on Sept. 24 and was held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center pending further proceedings.
Authorities and Flores' public defender have not released additional comments, and the investigation remains ongoing as noted in the arrest documents.
