Polish authorities say a fire at a Starlink satellite internet terminal was most likely a deliberate act of sabotage, Interior Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski told state broadcaster TVP on Thursday.
The blaze erupted on Wednesday evening at the Wola Krobowska terminal, about 50 kilometres south of Warsaw. Fire crews quickly brought the flames under control, but officials say the site’s power supply station and backup generator were damaged.
Investigation and Official Comments
Investigators examining the scene found signs that point to intentional disruption of the terminal’s operations. While Minister Gawkowski said it is not yet possible to definitively link the incident to Russia, he noted the attack is consistent with a recent pattern of so-called "hybrid" operations directed at European targets.
"It is clear that these acts of sabotage were intended to render this terminal inoperable," Gawkowski told TVP.

Officials warned that a prolonged failure at the terminal could have affected internet connectivity in the region and disrupted services that rely on network access — including cash machines across Poland. Starlink terminals, operated by SpaceX, are also widely used in Ukraine to support hospitals, schools and military communications after conventional telecom infrastructure was heavily damaged by Russian attacks.
