That figure includes 21% of respondents who identify as Trump voters. By comparison, only 28% of those surveyed said they believe Joe Biden was mainly responsible.
A majority of respondents also identified the rising cost of living as the top issue facing Americans today.
Political Response
President Trump and Vice President JD Vance have continued to argue that the administration inherited economic problems from the Biden presidency. On Truth Social, Trump wrote:
"I hope everyone realizes that price increases throughout America were caused by Sleepy Joe Biden and the Biden Administration, not by 'TRUMP.'"
Vance reiterated the claim while urging voters to give the administration "one more chance" in upcoming midterm contests.
