Sean Headley, an East Point LongHorn Steakhouse employee, posted a viral video on September 9 showing roaches, trash and unsafe food storage in the kitchen. A Georgia Department of Public Health inspection on September 11 gave the restaurant a score of 78 and listed multiple violations, including expired dairy and contamination risks. LongHorn said the issues were addressed, installed new leadership, and a September 14 follow‑up inspection raised the score to 99.

An employee at the LongHorn Steakhouse in East Point, Georgia, posted a video on September 9 showing unsanitary conditions in the restaurant kitchen — including trash on the floor, food stored improperly and roaches moving among the clutter. The footage quickly went viral and prompted an official health inspection and a public response from LongHorn’s corporate representatives.

Employee Raises Concerns After Internal Complaints

Sean Headley, who told reporters he had worked at the East Point location since April, said he had previously complained about cleanliness to his manager and to LongHorn corporate before posting the video. “There is no way I should work under these conditions, bro,” Headley says in the recording that was shared with FOX 5 Atlanta.

Inspection Finds Multiple Violations

A routine inspection by the Georgia Department of Public Health on September 11 documented several violations and assigned the restaurant a score of 78. Inspectors noted an employee handling clean dishes after touching soiled equipment without washing hands, uncovered salads exposed to potential contamination, expired half‑and‑half cartons, soiled cooler gaskets, food residue inside a reach‑in cooler, "black soiled debris" inside ice bin lids and significant pooling water on the floor.

Rapid Corrective Action And Follow‑Up

LongHorn called the conditions shown in the video "unacceptable" and said corrective actions had been taken. The company also said it had placed new leadership in the restaurant to help ensure standards are followed, though it did not disclose whether any previous managers were dismissed. A follow‑up inspection on September 14 raised the location’s score to 99; inspectors still observed soiled cooler shelves that were corrected during the visit.

Broader Context

Unwanted pests and sanitation lapses are not unique to this chain — similar viral reports have targeted other restaurants, prompting public concern and closer oversight. Headley said he wants more frequent health inspections and felt he had no choice but to go public after internal complaints failed to produce satisfactory results.

Bottom Line: The viral clip triggered official inspections and management changes; recent reports show the kitchen was quickly brought into compliance, but whether those improvements are sustained will depend on ongoing oversight and leadership.
