Zelenskiy: Russia Struck Ukraine's Energy Sector Overnight, Ignoring U.S. Peace Efforts

KYIV, Feb 3 (Reuters) — President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure overnight on Tuesday, dismissing ongoing U.S. efforts to advance a ceasefire or diplomatic progress.
Zelenskiy said Kyiv would promptly contact U.S. officials to discuss what consequences should follow for Russia after the attack, and to coordinate next steps in support and deterrence.
At a joint press conference with Netherlands' Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Zelenskiy said the leaders discussed rapid deliveries of air-defence systems and licences to allow production of U.S. weapons in Europe to accelerate supply chains.
He did not specify whether those talks produced concrete progress.
