Single Arkansas Ticket Wins $1.817 Billion Powerball Jackpot On Christmas Eve — Second-Largest Ever

A single ticket sold in Arkansas won the Dec. 24 Powerball jackpot of $1.817 billion — the second-largest prize in Powerball history and the largest awarded in 2025. The winning numbers were 4, 25, 31, 52, 59 with Powerball 19; the cash option is $834.9 million. Eight other tickets matched five white balls to win $1 million each, while dozens more won $50,000 and $100,000 prizes. The run lasted 47 drawings, a new single-cycle consecutive-drawings record.

A single ticket sold in Arkansas captured the Powerball jackpot of $1.817 billion in the drawing held on Wednesday, Dec. 24, awarding one player the second-largest prize in Powerball history and the biggest jackpot of 2025.

Other Big Winners

In the same drawing, eight tickets matched all five white balls to win $1 million each. Winners were located across several states, including Indiana, Michigan, two tickets in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Additionally, 114 tickets won $50,000 and 31 tickets won $100,000.

Odds, Ticket Info And Records

Powerball reports the odds of winning any prize at 1 in 24.9 and the odds of hitting the jackpot at 1 in 292.2 million. Tickets cost $2 per play and the game is sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

This jackpot run lasted 47 drawings, which Powerball says is a record for the most consecutive drawings in a single cycle.

The last Powerball jackpot winner before this was on Sept. 6, when two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas split a $1.787 billion prize. The largest Powerball jackpot on record remains the $2.04 billion prize won by a California ticket on Nov. 7, 2022.
