Powerball's advertised jackpot has reached $1 billion for Saturday's drawing, with the lump-sum cash option estimated at $457.7 million before taxes. This is the second time in 2025 the game has climbed to $1 billion, after a $1.787 billion prize was split on Sept. 6.

A winner would end a 41-drawing drought, produce the seventh-largest Powerball payout and follow long-term rule changes designed to grow jackpots. The drawing is scheduled for 10:59 p.m. ET; odds are 1 in 292.2 million.

Powerball's advertised jackpot has climbed to $1 billion for Saturday's drawing, with the lump-sum cash option estimated at $457.7 million before taxes and withholdings. If a single ticket matches all numbers, the winner would claim the advertised $1 billion prize and end the game's current 41-drawing streak without a jackpot winner.

This is the second time in 2025 that the multi-state game has reached or exceeded the $1 billion mark. On Sept. 6, ticket holders in Missouri and Texas split a $1.787 billion jackpot — the second-largest Powerball prize on record, behind only the $2.04 billion payout on Nov. 7, 2022.

A winning ticket on Saturday would become the seventh-largest Powerball payout in history and would tie the longest winless streak for the game. The current 41-drawing run without a jackpot winner matches the stretch that ended on April 6, 2024, when an Oregon ticket captured a $1.3 billion prize.
