Lufthansa to Inspect 11 Airbus Jets After Potential Fuselage Panel Flaw; Two More Cleared

LONDON, Dec 3 — Lufthansa said on Wednesday it will inspect 11 aircraft recently delivered by Airbus after the manufacturer flagged a potential flaw in a fuselage panel earlier this week.

A company spokesperson said the issue affects 11 newly delivered aircraft of that specific model across the Lufthansa Group. Two production aircraft have already been inspected successfully by the manufacturer and are scheduled for delivery this week.

Lufthansa added it will carry out the inspection recommended by Airbus immediately and emphasized that passenger safety is its top priority. The airline said checks would be completed before affected aircraft enter regular service where required.

There was no immediate indication of any safety incidents related to the issue, and Lufthansa and Airbus are coordinating closely as the inspections proceed. The airline has not announced any expected service disruptions at this time.
