Wajahat Ali Tells White MAGA Voters 'You've Lost,' Says U.S. Would Be a 'S---hole' Without Immigrants

On his "Left Hook" podcast, Wajahat Ali told White MAGA voters "you've lost," blaming the 1965 Hart-Celler Act for ushering in the "Browning of America." He criticized aspects of White Trump-supporting culture as "bland," warned that expelling immigrants would leave the U.S. a "s---hole," and urged White people of conscience to confront racist relatives. Ali later clarified that his comments targeted white supremacists and anti-immigrant hatemongers, not all White people.

Podcaster and Substack writer Wajahat Ali sharply criticized White Americans who support former President Donald Trump during an episode of his "Left Hook" podcast, declaring they "have lost" the contest over the country's future.

The comments followed a late-night Thanksgiving post by Trump on Truth Social promoting what he called a "reverse migration" plan and a pledge to halt immigration from what he described as "Third World countries," as well as to roll back recent immigration admissions policies.

On the podcast, Ali repeatedly invoked the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 (the Hart-Celler Act) as a turning point that set in motion what he described as the "Browning of America." He framed his remarks as a rebuke to White MAGA voters and the white supremacist movement.

"We're not going back. I want all the hatemongers who watch this—and I hope they do watch this—because I know they hate-watch us. You've lost. You have lost. You lost," he said.

Ali did not spare cultural criticism, characterizing the culture of White Trump supporters in blunt terms. He used provocation to underscore his point, saying their story was "a s--- story filled with misery," and that much of the culture they prize is "bland." He also warned that some MAGA conservatives would rather "burn the whole place down" than share it.

He clarified that his target was not all White people but specifically "White MAGA voters," whom he equated with white supremacists and anti-immigrant hatemongers. Ali urged people of conscience to confront racist remarks among family and neighbors during the holidays: "You need to have these tough conversations with your White family members... It's your uncle Chad. Yes, he makes a great turkey, but he's also racist."

After the episode drew criticism, Ali sought to walk back broader interpretations of his comments, saying critics were reading his remarks in "bad faith" and that his ire was aimed at white supremacists and anti-immigrant hatemongers, not at all White people.

Ali's remarks touched on larger national debates about immigration policy, cultural identity, and political rhetoric. The exchange highlights how immigration remains a flashpoint that fuels heated public conversations about who belongs in the United States and how that identity is changing.
