USDA: Farm Aid and China Soybean Purchase Deals Expected Within Two Weeks

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said the administration expects to finalize deals on farmer aid and Chinese purchases of U.S. soybeans within the next one to two weeks. She indicated China may sign a soybean purchase agreement "this week or next week," but provided no details on quantities, prices, or aid terms. The comments signal likely near-term action to support U.S. farmers amid trade tensions.

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said on Monday that the Trump administration expects to announce agreements on aid for American farmers and on Chinese purchases of U.S. soybeans within the next two weeks, but she provided few specifics.

“We'll have an announcement probably in the next week or two on what that's going to look like,” Rollins told CNBC, referring to support for U.S. farmers.

When asked about China's commitment to buy soybeans from the United States, Rollins said she understood the Chinese side was scheduled to sign the purchase deal "this week or next week." She did not provide details on the volume, price, timeline, or the structure of the anticipated aid package.

The remarks suggest imminent movement on measures aimed at supporting U.S. farmers amid ongoing trade tensions, but officials have not released concrete terms. Observers will be looking for specifics on how the aid will be distributed and whether the soybean purchases will meaningfully offset recent market losses for producers.
