Ector County ISD Breaks Ground on Final Bond-Funded Agricultural Facility

ODESSA, Texas — Ector County ISD held a groundbreaking Thursday evening to clear the site for a new agricultural farm building that will support student learning across the district.

The facility is the fourth and final project funded by a bond package voters approved in 2023. It is designed to serve students enrolled in the district’s agriculture and plant science CTE (Career and Technical Education) pathways.

Officials say the building will provide hands-on training and practical, career-focused experiences — from plant science to animal care and other agriculture-related skills — expanding opportunities for students preparing for college or the workforce.

Project leaders expect construction to be completed within the next year. Once finished, the facility will give students more space and equipment for experiential learning and could enable partnerships with local farms and businesses.

Project highlights

  • Final element of the 2023 bond package
  • Supports agriculture and plant science CTE programs
  • Emphasis on hands-on, career-ready training
